Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 10, 2026
This policy explains how NOLYB (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you use nolyb.com. Questions? Email hello@nolyb.com.
What we mean by “cookies and similar technologies”
The term “cookies” in privacy law covers any technology that stores or accesses information on your device — including traditional HTTP cookies, browser localStorage, and sessionStorage. This policy covers all of them.
What we actually store
NOLYB uses only essential storage — the minimum required for authentication to work. We use Plausible Analytics for website traffic measurement, but Plausible operates without cookies or persistent identifiers, so it does not require consent under cookie laws. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Our authentication layer (Supabase) stores your session using browser localStorage rather than HTTP cookies. The data stored is listed below.
| Key | Storage type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | localStorage | Keeps you signed in | ~1 week |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | localStorage | Secures the OAuth sign-in flow (PKCE) | Session |
This storage is strictly necessary for the service to function. Under UK ICO guidance and the EU ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary storage is exempt from consent requirements.
Third-party services
When you connect a third-party integration (Google Drive, Notion, Slack, etc.), that provider’s OAuth flow runs on their own domain and may set its own cookies or storage — these are governed by that provider’s policy, not ours.
Plausible Analytics: NOLYB uses Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the website. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, does not track visitors across sites, and does not store raw IP addresses. The data recorded is aggregated: pages visited, referrer, country, device type, and browser. Because Plausible does not access or store information on your device, it does not require consent under cookie laws. See Plausible’s data policy for details.
Managing your storage
Because the browser storage described above is essential for authentication, clearing it will sign you out. You can clear browser storage at any time through your browser’s developer tools or settings:
Changes to this policy
If we introduce any technologies that store or access information on your device and require consent under applicable cookie laws, we will update this policy, introduce the appropriate consent mechanism, and notify you via email or a notice in the platform.
